重庆缙云山国家级自然保护区

　  重庆缙云山国家级自然保护区位于重庆市北碚区嘉陵江小三峡之温塘峡西岸，距重庆市中心35公里，面积7600公顷，海拔200—952.5米。缙云山自然保护区成立于1979年，2001年晋升为国家级自然保护区，1985年成立重庆市植物园。保护区内植物资源十分丰富，部分植物起源古老，珍稀濒危植物繁多，据调查，缙云山保护区现有植物246科、992属、1966种，其中国家级保护珍稀植物珙桐、银杉、红豆杉、桫椤等51种，有缙云四照花、缙云槭、北碚榕等模式植物38种；有动物1071种，其中国家级保护珍稀动物草鸮、红腹锦鸡、雕鸮等13种。是长江中上游地区典型的亚热带常绿阔叶林区和植物种基因库，具有较高的保护价值和科学研究价值，是开展森林科考研究、生态教学实习及环境保护教育等活动的基地。

　  缙云山林海苍茫，奇峰耸翠，九峰峥嵘排空，素有“川东小峨眉”之称。缙云山有保存较为完好的始建于南朝刘宋景平元年（公元423年）的缙云寺庙，有晚唐石照壁、宋代牌坊、清代那伽窟等古代石刻，有原中国佛教协会会长太虚大师创建的“世界佛学苑汉藏教理院”遗址和原--南方局夏季办公旧址，有重建的白云观、绍龙观道教文化园区，有风景迷人的黛湖、狮子峰、香炉峰、佛光岩、舍身岩、白云竹海等自然景观。
 
Covering an area of 7,600 ha,Chonqqing Jinyunshan National Nature Reserve is located in Beibei district ,Shapingba district and Bishan county and the western bank of Wentang Gorge, Jialingjiang River, which is about 35 km away fro m the downtown of Chongqing with the altitude between 200～952.5m. Established in the year 1979, Jinyunshan Nature Reserve was designated as a national nature reserve  in the year 2001. In the year 1985, Chongqing Botany Garden was set up under Jinyunshan Nature Reserve. Jinyunshan National Nature Reserve has an abundant biodiversity of flora. Some species have an old origin and quite a lot are rare and endangered species. The survey shows that 246 families，992 genus, and 1,966 species are currently growing here, among which, 51 species are under national protection, such as Davidia involucrate Baill.var.involucrata, Cathaya argyrophylla Chun et Kuang, Taxus chinensis and Alsophila spinulosa (Wall. ex Hook.) Tryon, and 38 are model plants, such as Dendrobenthamia ferruginea (Wu) Fang var. jinyunensis,Acer wangchii Fang subsp. tsinyunense Fang and Ficus beipeiensis S.S.Chang. There also grows 1,071 kinds of wild animals, and 13 of them are under national protection, such as grass owl, golden pheasant and eagle owl. Jinyunshan National Nature Reserve is the typical area for the growing of sub-tropical evergreen broadleaved forest and the gene bank of plant species in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which enjoys high value for protection and scientific research, and it has become the ideal place for scientific research, teaching and environmental education.

With peculiar peaks and vast forest, Jinyun Mountain has enjoyed the reputation of “Little Emei in eastern Sichuan”. There exists well-preserved Temple Jinyun built in 423 A.D; the rocks-carving, i.e. stone-made screen wall of late Tang Dynasty, the stone archway of Song Dynasty, Naga Cave fro m Qing Dynasty; the ruins of Han and Tibetan Buddhism Doctrine Institute of the World Buddhism Doctrine Institute set up by Master Taixu, president of China Buddhist Society; the site of the former CPA Southern Administrations during summer times; the rebuilt White Cloud and Shaoyun Taoist temples. Jinyun Mountain also has many charming landscape including Daihu lake, Lion Peaks, Incense Burner Peaks, Glory Cliff, Sacrifice Crag and the White Cloud Bamboo Sea.
